How do you know you’re pleasing God?
Know Yourself. Know that you’re a sinner. (Matthew 9: 12-13)
“I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” When you become aware of that, you develop a humble heart. He will not reject a broken and repentant heart.
Have Faith. “It’s impossible to please God without faith. You must believe that God exists, and he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6) Is your faith large enough to know that God exists?
Show Praise and Thanksgiving. “Therefore, let us offer through Jesus the Messiah a continual, living sacrifice of praise…”(Heb. 13:15)
Fear and Love Him. (Psalm 147) The Lord’s pleasure is in those who fear him, in those who put their hope in his unfailing love. There’s something comfortable in those definitions—that fearing God and receiving his love are exactly the same thing.
Show Obedience. (1 Samuel 15:22) Just doing the right thing-—doing good. Samuel says: “Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering…” Those who are under control of their sinful nature can never please God.
Confess and Repent. He will not reject a broken and repentant heart. (Psalm 51:17) Do you want to please God and be closer to him? Be honest, and confess your faults. He’s ready to reward you with unconditional love.
