Ask, Seek, Knock

Matthew 7: 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

So what are the things you are asking for? When we read this scripture, we see that Jesus is saying that if we ask for something good that he will not give us the opposite of that. So if we ask for direction, he does not desire to give us confusion. And if we ask for purpose, he doesn’t want to give us despair. So we take hope in that verse, and in that promise—that his giftsare good.

2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
