Some call it a garage sale. But we thought, we’re not selling garages. We selling STUFF. So we thought about calling it a Stuff Sale. That might raise some eyebrows. But then we thought, people might not know what that is. But they know what a Rummage Sale is.

So whatever you call it, we’re committed to doing it right.

So come on, bring it, carry it, tow it, any way you can get it here, bring your STUFF to the church today, tomorrow this weekend–we really need everything in in the building by May 23 if not sooner. Just let us know you’re coming, and we’ll be on hand to receive it. Just give us a ring at 601-829-1600 or 601-832-9665.

We have an unprecedented opportunity– if we can raise $7,000 we have someone who is going to MATCH that amount! That’d be a grand total of $14,000 for Kingdom work in our community. What a great blessing!

So let’s get involved and do what we can to reach our goal! We need you! You can let us know via Facebook, or email Linda McNeely at lmcneely@qs1.com.
We need people to:

Sort and price items for sale

Categorize and set up tables

Be present at the sale on May 26 (6:00 am to Noon)

Help with clean-up and set up the worship center after the sale

Provide breakfast/snack food for the workers

And pray for a good day!

There will be a sign-up sheet this Sunday at church to help us get organized; so sign up and let us know what you can do!

It automatically appears when we respond to someone in an email. And if it’s used in reference to a study of Acts, it creates the word “REACTS. The implication is that we should REACT or RESPOND to the Gospel with our actions.

That’s what we are going to do at Northshore in the coming weeks. And that’s why we’re naming our new series “RE:ACTS”, in which we will allow the reading of the book of Acts and the Holy Spirit to guide us into the next season of Northshore being Re-Wired. How do we RE:ACT to the word of God? How are we RE:ACTING to Jesus? RE:ACTING to the Spirit, to salvation, to each other..?

In preparation, will you join us as we all read the book of Acts?

I – CENTER MISSION STATEMENT
To provide quality Christ-centered childcare dedicated to nurture the “whole child” – the children’s spiritual, social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

II – CENTER PHILOSOPHY
Northshore Children’s Center’s mission will be achieved through:

Providing a ministry to the families of the Church At Northshore and the families in the surrounding communities.

Providing a facility where parents can leave their children while they embark upon endeavors in life. Parents can be assured that their children will receive excellent care in their surrogate home.

Providing a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for elementary age children that is conducive to learning and social relationships.

Providing teachers/staff/volunteers who share a Christian-biblical worldview and principles.

Providing a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate and recognizes the individual needs and differences of children. The activities include language development, reading, creative-arts, (drama, music, visual, movement, dance) supervised play, gardening, and field trips.

We believe, as Jesus demonstrated and the Scriptures teach, that children are very important people. Jesus said “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to people who are like these children…” (Luke 18:16 NCV) The Scripture says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 KJV)

Northshore Children’s Center desires to help the children’s parents and family “train up the child in the way he should go…” Each day we will initiate our dedication to teach, instruct, disciple and care for the overall needs of all the children. All children (as all people young and old) should be trained in the way of righteousness and godliness. And each child should be brought up according to the tenor of his/her way: in harmony of their disposition, in light of their talents and gifts, in development of their unique character. We want to assist the parents in developing their children to have the mind and attitude of Christ, helping them grow – pointing the kids in the right direction – so when they’re grown they won’t be lost.

Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

On Sunday, February 12, 9:00am, Northshore is launching a new class– a 6 week “self-defense” course designed to introduce you to ways to protect yourself and your family both physically and spiritually. We will talk about personal safety, spiritual safety and prayer. It will be interactive on the personal safety side with demonstration of and learning of very basic self-defense techniques, and also be designed to affect and effect your mindset about personal safety and spiritual safety.

How can our story become more like God’s Salvation Rescue story of His redeeming a people from captivity? Who was Jesus in that story – who is Jesus in our story? How do we look like a community where God is God?

Before mid-November we will read together the first 20 chapters being reminded and discovering anew how Isreal’s story and our story are both similar – yet full of God’s unique expressions of love and redemption and freedom and anger and interaction and discipline and salvation and truth and guidance.
